Music City!

Got home from Nashville today and gotta say it was the best trip of 2008. Me Ryan Garcia and Al Roybal threw $1000 in gas 7-10 days and 5,000 miles of highway into the wind for some good ol fashioned BMX fun. It was an odd trip for me and most people woulda been bummed but I had the best time Ive had in awhile. I have friends and arguably alot of friends but the dudes that really understand BMX like I do and whats to gain from it and how to enjoy it are the ones that Im really bonded with. Ryan and Al are true BMXicans and I can vouch for them after this trip to that fact for sure. Ryan I barely have known now for 10days or so and Id stab a mutherfucker in the neck for that dude. Good attitude hes doin alot for his local scene and he just flat out gets it. Al Ive always known to be pretty chill and down for the cause but this was my first trip with him. He was all that as promised and Im psyked to have been invited. Thanks guys.

Hung with Rick Moliterno of Standard fame this weekend and Ive known him for awhile but never talked as much as this weekend. I figured since the scene was alot more relaxed thats what got us talking but it was cool and Im gonna keep in touch for sure. hint hint.

Banged up my shoulder- shits all bad couldnt ride the Nashville race but hopefully it heals sooner than later :)

AZ Indian Reservations- Haha Al was all about these places and since he's Indian haha what could you tell him? I chilled checked it out and slept through half of his tour.

Strip Club!- haha shady ladies and the suckers that get took for hundreds of dollars. LOL not my ass $10 is all you get from me :)

More trip info to come- Yeeeeeeeeeee

Late!

Leaving to Nashville Tenn. today. Pretty psyked as its like my first road trip of the year in my opinion. Rode the Roseville national and thought I was gonna get smoked pretty badly but things worked out pretty decent. Made semis both days and just some bad luck/maybe bad decisions on my part im not sure but my pack riding was good just not the smartest I think. Anyway it was good and I had a good time. George at www.knightbikeco.com dropped me off some product last night so Im all ready for the trip. He got to see my new frame along with Chris and they both seemed to like it. I got it all painted up in a white fade kinda scheme so it looks good now and will really be nice when I get all the new parts for it. Gonna be a snowstorm for sure :) Welcome back Chris! That fucker is back from his desert venture and to celebrate I lent him my bike while Im gone... Sorry no pics and this might be the only blog for a week or so I get back on the 23rd if all goes planned and thats pretty much all thats going on with me :) much love everyone- Nick dawg

Pick A Pic!

So heres a few more pics and as always some more info on them. All shot by Daniel of course...

First off is probably one of the coolest sites youll ever see in life and it might just be me but IMO kids and children in general are really pure. What I mean by that is that they have their feelings out there good or bad right there for the world to see, they arent influenced by anything really maybe parents but for the most part they are oblivious to their surroundings and thats what makes kids so awesome. So were ridin home on BART me Daniel and Scott after the A's game a few weeks ago and Im watching this kid whos really psyked on something that him and his sister have. I check to see what it is and I catch a glimpse... Its a fish! A good ol fashioned american gold fish. Its the county fair time right now so I figured they won it on one of those lil games. The mom is yackin off on a cell phone and ignoring the kid and hes just babbling off 101 questions but shes paying him no mind. I scoot up and listen to him because his questions are typical kid questions just random and funny. I tell Daniel to snag a pic and hes kinda nervous because it is someones kid and thats kinda weird but I get him to because the mom is off in la la land and prolly not even gonna notice anyway. Get the pic it comes out perfect as I saw it that day and check the kids expression and the like I mentioned pureness involved in the pic. Definitely one of my favorite pics Ive ever seen in my entire life.

Next up is a pic of me prior to that A's game I just mentioned. Fresh. New Fitted and White Button Up, who can hate on that right? The A's didn't like it I guess though because they got blown out 11-1 and I was bummed but Dons bbq was cool and the day was a blast anyway. Good times and Im glad I was invited and went.

And Lastly- Peep the street promotion we got going for the new company Exodus. Thats right why waste money on flyers and stuff that can be thrown away? 4th of July is always an excuse to burn stuff and mess around and I took full advantage of some sparklers and some concrete. The sparklers burn really hot and that white chalky stuff doesnt fade for a minute :) Exodus in full effect its literally like "in the streets"...

Bummer...

So if you dont know Nate Strieby you need to do some research anyway and get some knowledge. Anyway super nice rider from the midwest and a great dude all around. So I get an email this morning saying Nate and some guy Shawn Speitmer (sp?) got into a small collision at the akron ohio park and the dude Shawn ended up passing away from it. WTF? I had to read some info here and there but what seemed like a joke to me was very true. I guess his bars and his chest had a disagreement and they havent done a full autposy but sure enough the dude passed away right there. Couple that with Anthony's concussion last night, and the shitty year Ive had so far. BMX is ruthless right now... Thoughts and prayers go out to the Striebys family and the family of Shawn who will definitely miss their son who tragically passed on at only 33. Ride safe kids and always be aware of where all the other riders are in the park.
